Urban Leaf founders Kadieann Tighe and Shani Cohen set out on a mission to show people that plant-based eating can be nutritious and delicious.
Building a plant based empire is the dream. Both Chefs have been on a journey throughout the culinary industry, from fine-dining to catering. Now they want to show the world what eating vegan looks like.
Chef Kadieann Tighe
Working in a variety of environments, Chef Kadieann has rounded out her skill set as a sous-chef in a fine dining restaurant, a head chef on a mega yacht and most recently as the production manager at Save On Meats, a staple of Vancouver activism in the Downtown East Side
Not only does she want to make incredible dishes, but she believes in giving back to the community. Her position at Save On Meats is integral to helping them serve 810 meals per day to those without food security.
Kadieann also loves to bring plant-based foods to the masses, crafting custom menus and incredible dishes.
Chef Shani Cohen
After working at a leading Canadian telecom corporation for 5 years, Chef Shani realized she wanted to do something more meaningful with her life.
She left the corporate world with one goal at mind: to learn everything she could about food, the kitchen lifestyle and feeding people. She started her career at Chickpea and now is a Sous Chef at the legendary Virtuous Pie.
Shani was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. Growing up Jewish meant there was always a focus on food. For her and her family, it was a way to connect with people, share memories and celebrate life. Co-founding Urban Leaf Catering is about being apart of the bigger picture, which is changing the world with food.
